Update from El Castillo!

Good news! Our pilot reef, El Castillo, is thriving. In the latest monitoring our team in San Andres, Colombia, noted that the coral recruits are growing. They also saw that the coral fragments we put on the structure are fusing together. We couldn’t be more happy!

In addition, El Castillo is now home to some amazing new residents. Over the past few months, a diverse range of aquatic animals, including sea anemones, sea urchins, small crabs, shrimps, fish, and shellfish, have found a home in our modular system. We are thrilled to see the emergence of such a beautiful diversity of life, which is a testament to the effectiveness of our reef restoration efforts.

Our local team in Colombia has been instrumental in this success, and we would like to give a big thank you to Angela Alegria Ortega, Samuel Thomsen, and Miguel Giovannetti for their incredible eye for detail.
