We’re happy to share with you our latest impact report, that summarizes the 1-year progress of rrreefs’ project in the Philippines’ Pujada Bay.
In February 2024, we launched our project to regenerate 100 m² of degraded reef, in collaboration with global and local partners. In addition to the 820-brick modular clay reef built, around 9,000 mangrove seedlings were planted along the shoreline.
Monitoring so far indicates positive developments: coral larvae are beginning to colonize the new reef, fish biomass has increased significantly, and biodiversity is gradually improving with nearly 100 fish species recorded.
Some mangrove seedlings have grown over 50 cm, with a survival rate of about 63%, and 361 local children have been engaged in marine conservation education by Davao Oriental State University.
